Vanda Helen Upton Lake went to be with the Lord on July 28th, 2021, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Vanda was born February 17, 1947, in Gallup, N.M. to Van D. and Helen Mae Upton. She was raised by Calvin and Helen Winder in Kiefer, Oklahoma. Vanda graduated from Kiefer High School in 1965 as Valedictorian.
She married George Victor Lake on July 8, 1966. They recently celebrated 55 years together. She was the mother of two sons, Victor Calvin and Vance William.
Vanda was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Kiefer, Oklahoma where she served as a Sunday school teacher and song leader. Vanda worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for TrukQuip, Sefco and Tulsa County. She retired at 66 years old and began volunteering at Sapulpa Head start and the Creek County election board. Recently, she began taking art lessons.
She is survived by her husband, George Lake of Sapulpa, two sons, Victor Calvin and Vance William and wife, Michelle of Sapulpa. Grandchildren, Amber Howling Crane and Ronnie of Tulsa, Nena Howling Crane and Brandon of Boston, Kaliteyo Lake of Sapulpa and Vance Lake, II of Sapulpa, one great grandson, Braden Howling Crane of Tulsa.
