Antonio “Tony” Pinho, formerly of Sapulpa, died Jan. 25 in Naugatuck, Conn. He was 74.
He and his wife, Marie Pinho, owned A&M Auto Repair in downtown Sapulpa for many years. Their Christmas party at the shop was an annual event filled with food and friends. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Tony was a big personality who celebrated life. He loved fishing and spent a lot of time on Oklahoma lakes. He enjoyed playing and coaching soccer and cheering for teams from his native Portugal.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sisters, Prazeres Demers and her husband, Arthur, of Naugatuck; Anna Tavares and her husband, Fernando, of Portugal; his brother, Carlos Pinho and his wife, Maria, of Naugatuck; and many nieces and nephews, including Colleen Almeida Smith of Tulsa, Matthew Almeida of Broken Arrow, Antonio Almeida of Kansas City, Mo., and Jason Almeida of Denham Springs, La.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 in Naugatuck. A memorial service will be held later in Sapulpa.
