Tommy Raby

Tommy Leon Raby was born January 25, 1946, and passed away October 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Bessie Raby, and his brother, Keith Raby.

Left missing him is wife Maggie Raby, sister Betty Knowles and her husband Bill; sister Sharon Jones and her husband Gene. Still calling him Daddy, are his two daughters; Michelle Snelling (Shelly) and her husband Tony, and Tamara Morrison and her husband Aaron. He also leaves behind two stepsons, Keith Sommerville and wife Ashley; and Kris Sommerville and wife Sam.

And his pride and joy – all his grandsons; Cameron DeBorde, Chance DeBorde, Colton Snelling, Cody Snelling, Conner Snelling, Parker Sommerville, Rowen Sommerville, Tevis Sommerville and Graff Sommerville. And there are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Tommy was a father to many outside of his immediate family.

He will be remembered for the fruit and vegetable stand, especially the ice cold watermelons picked fresh from their garden. And for being the owner of Raby Plumbing & Pro Hardware, and then Raby Plumbing and Raby’s Woodstoves for over 35 years. Even after selling the company, he stayed busy on the backhoe.

As a young boy he loved animals, and that continued throughout his life. He had a myriad of different animals but there always seemed to be goats no matter what. They may have changed in shape and size over the years, but there were goats.

His love of animals also included raising horses and he enjoyed riding with many friends. Then he started riding the motorized horses. He loved that just as much. He always loved to travel. There were countless family vacations and he and Maggie were able to travel to some of his favorite places right up to the very end.

He will be dearly missed by all.
