Susie Jeanette Austin

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Susie Jeanette Austin will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dow Baptist Church in Dow, Oklahoma. A public viewing will be held at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm.

Susie Jeanette Austin, age 44, passed away in Cleveland, OH on Friday, June 8, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Susie was born in Fairbanks, Alaska to parents; William Don and Henrietta Sue Lovett on March 12, 1974. She was one of five children. Growing up in the McAlester, Oklahoma area; Susie was a graduate of the class of 1992 from McAlester High School. After graduation she met the love of her life, Grant Allen Austin and the two got married on October 19, 1992. After they married, Susie furthered her education to receive an Associate’s Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State, graduating in the class of 1997.

On June 15, 1994 Susie and Grant gave birth to their son Jackson Henry Austin. And following several years on March 9, 2002, they gave birth to their daughter Hailey Dawn Austin.

To know Susie was to know a woman that loved her family and Jesus dearly. A conversation could hardly be had without her bragging about her children or how God has blessed her life with a wonderful family. Even with her declining health, Susie remained confident and continued to care for her family.

Susie had been a member of Canyon Road Baptist Church for 12 years. With raising her family in church, she was very involved with the youth group. She always wanted to be involved with youth activities and church camps. She volunteered with Vacation Bible School every year mainly helping kids with arts and crafts, drawing, and planning events for the kids. She took an active role as a board member to the Oklahoma Hemophilia Foundation to raise awareness for the disease affecting the family she loved so dearly. In doing so, Susie adopted a whole new family of friends she cared for. She was also a Sunday school teacher, Team Kids Leader, helps with Girl Scout Troops 226 and 581. She also volunteered at Freedom Elementary School, as well as the Sapulpa High School Band.

She is preceded in death by grandparents; Julia May “Crawford” Sudduth and Thomas Jackson Sudduth.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include husband, Grant Austin; two children, Jackson Henry and Hailey Dawn Austin of Sapulpa, OK. Parents William Don and Henrietta Sue Lovett of Krebs, OK. Sister and brother-in-law, Sonya and Richard Steves of Crowder, OK. Julie Plummer of McAlester, Ok. Jacqueline Dawn Lovett of Krebs, OK Christina Lovett of McAlester OK. Brother-in-law Doug Austin, nieces and nephews include Dean and Blake Austin, Ashleigh and Thomas Simon, Alyxander Turner, Gabriel Mary-Sue and Eden Steves, William and Mindy Lovett, Hunter Plummer, Zoee Lovett, great niece Dolly Sue Lovett and Nephew Xander Simon. Aunts and Uncles Juliet and Kinney Mitchel, Buddy and Melody Sudduth, Lonnie and Jeretta Sudduth, Jimmy and Donna Lovett, Paul Jones, and Kathy Jones, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends.
