In the early hours of Friday, October 23, 2020, Stephen Louis Nelson, of Sapulpa, OK, passed away at the age of 61. Stephen was born on February 3, 1959 in Kokomo, IN to Albert and Alice Nelson of Sapulpa, OK. He graduated from Sapulpa High School where he played football. He graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK and also attended Bethany Nazarene College, in Bethany, OK. Stephen worked for over 30 years at and retired from Explorer Pipeline. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish and hunt, and loved a good bird dog. In his later years, he got into log woodworking. Like many Oklahomans, he was a big OU fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, and his mother, Alice.
He is survived by his daughter Shelby Donise Sager, by his son Stephen Daniel Nelson, and his sister Yvonne Gail Byard.
A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Thursday, October 29th at 10:30 a.m.
