Roseann O’Brien

Roseann O’Brien, 70, of Tulsa, died on Friday, January 18, 2019. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, January 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sapulpa, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 24, at 2:00 PM, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Tulsa.
Roseann was born on October 9, 1948, in Tulsa, the daughter of Leo and Mary Jo (Moran) O’Brien. She grew up Sapulpa, graduating from Sapulpa High School in the class of 1966. After graduation, she briefly attended nursing school at St. John hospital before continuing her education at Oklahoma State University.
She worked as the office manager at Hasco Manufacturing Company in Sapulpa for 44 years until her retirement in 2012. She was well-known in the oil and gas industry and was active in the business community. She was a longtime member of the American Business Women’s Association and was selected as the group’s “Woman of the Year” in 1975.
Roseann loved spending time with her friends. Whether they were shopping, playing Bunco, or visiting the casino, they always cherished the good times they shared together. She enjoyed working on her class reunions over the years. Roseann liked to travel, and especially enjoyed going on cruises. She was an avid Oklahoma State fan, and always looked forward to cheering for her beloved Cowboys. She loved Christmas and took great joy in showering her nieces and nephews with gifts.
She is survived by three brothers, David O’Brien, and his wife, Jackie, Daniel O’Brien, and Steve O’Brien, and his wife, Christy, all of Tulsa, two nephews, Sean O’Brien, of Canton, Texas, and Conner O’Brien, of Tulsa, three nieces, Meghan Whitaker, and her husband, Ernie, of Canton, Texas, Clare O’Brien, of Tulsa, and Sydney Pham, of Tulsa, great nephew, Kayson, and two great nieces, Kaylee and Kynzie, and numerous other extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, for whom she provided long-term care during their final years. She also was a devoted caregiver for several other family members, including her beloved Aunt “Betsy” Emma Butler.
