Robert Eugene “Bob” Prater, 90, formerly of Sapulpa, passed away on Saturday August 8, 2020 in Tulsa. Bob was born to William Riley and Ethel Estella (McFarland) Prater on February 8, 1930 in Bowden, OK. He attended Bowden elementary school and Sapulpa High School. Bob enlisted in the US Air Force in 1948 and attained the rank of Sergeant prior to his discharge in 1952. Bob played football in high school and on the squadron team overseas. He married Asaka in September 1951. Bob attended and graduated from Oklahoma School of Accountancy with a Bachelor Degree in Commercial Science. He retired from American Airlines where he worked as an accountant for over 35 years. Bob is survived by two sons: Charles E. and William R. Prater; daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandchildren, Brent, Erin, Lucas, Jason, Jennifer, and Darren; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Eliza, Nash, Dylan, and Mary Ann. He was preceded in death by wife, Asaka, daughter-in-law Lina, three brothers and four sisters. Private family services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, 10 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 1208 South Main in Sapulpa.
