Rita Taylor

Rita Kathleen Taylor, 69, passed from her earthly life on September 10, 2022. 

Rita was born July 31, 1953, in Tulsa to Joseph and Lenora Roberts. She attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rita was outgoing and loved being around other people and sought employment where she could help others. She thrived at Radio Shack and Shadow Mountain Racket Club where she made friends with both clients and colleagues. She was known for her outgoing and outspoken sense of fun and camaraderie.

Rita met and married James Taylor Sr. While their marriage wouldn’t last forever, they remained close until the day she departed. As a team they raised their two children James Taylor Jr. and April Taylor. Rita married her second husband, Wayne Land on November 1, 1991. Together they lived in Sapulpa, Oklahoma where they were constantly surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rita was known for her sense of stylish flair with a great love of holidays and special occasions – anything to celebrate family and getting together.

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne Land; children April Taylor and James Taylor Jr.; grandchildren Amiee Bryant, Kelsey Robinson, Alize Ruybal, Gatlyn Taylor and Dakota McCarty, Holly and Hunter Wood; great-grandchildren Serenity Clopton, Myah and Kinzlee Thornton and Raiden Robinson; sisters Janet Thompson and Brenda Layne and brother Andrew Roberts and her best friend and niece Treatha Chamberlain and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lenora Roberts; brothers Joseph Roberts Jr., Lloyd White Jr. and Orvil Roberts and sisters Imogene Fraley and Carrie Clark.

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 200 S. Elm in Sapulpa with the Reverend Monty McGee officiating
