Rhea Lee Douglas was born on January 25th, 1928 to William and Mabel King at their ranch home (the Bar Z Ranch) in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She left this world to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her beloved husband John, on October 25th, 2020.
Rhea married John B. Douglas on August 5th, 1945. She was married in the same room in which she was born. Rhea was employed by the Sapulpa School System first as a cook, then later as a teacher’s aide. She and husband John, owned and operated Douglas Furniture and Appliances at 15 N. Main in Sapulpa, for 30 years. They lived in Sapulpa for 70 years and developed many lasting friendships in the community and in their church family, First Church of God. Rhea and John loved to travel and took great pride in visiting all of the 50 states, England, Switzerland, and many more exciting locations.
Rhea is preceded in death by her husband John, parents William and Mabel King, three sisters Bonnie Douglas, Clara Davis, Naomi Johnston, two brothers Wallace and Little Leonard King.
Rhea is survived by her son Kenneth Douglas and wife Nelda of Sapulpa, daughter Janice Chinn and husband Lucky of Sapulpa and grandson Kevin Chinn and wife Lisa of Sapulpa, and a host of nieces and nephews which she dearly loved.
Visitation will be held October 28, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main, Sapulpa, Oklahoma and funeral services will be held 2:00 pm at First Church of God, 1011 E Hastain, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
