Patricia “Patty” Hopkins

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Patricia Lynn Hopkins will be 10:00am Thursday December 23, 2021 at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service, burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Patricia Lynn Fanning Hopkins was born August 14, 1953 in Oakdale, California to James Forrest Fanning and Florence Marie Hill Fanning. Patty grew up in a rodeo family with both parents being professional bull riders. She had eight siblings Billy, Jimmy, Gwen, Bronc, Donna, Janie, Joe, and Michael. Patty’s family moved to Oklahoma when she was eleven. She attended Berryhill Schools and graduated in 1972. After graduation in 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Hopkins. They had four children Stephanie, Jennifer, Christy, and Ronnie.

Patty received a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Administration. She was a life-long educator. She loved teaching and admired every student that came into her classroom. Patty taught at Haskell Middle School in Broken Arrow and Glenpool High School. She retired after 30 years of service. Patty especially loved teaching Sunday School and her own children about Jesus. Patty was passionate about her children and her 16 grandchildren. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren shopping and attending their sporting events.

Patty was married to Ron for 49 years. They enjoyed taking trips, especially to the beach. She is survived by her husband Ronald Hopkins, her children Heath and Stephanie Timmerman, Shane and Jennifer Roller, Johnny and Christy Dulaney, Ronnie and Cassie Hopkins, and 15 grandchildren. Patricia is preceded in death by both her parents, her siblings: Billy, Jimmy, Gwen, and Donna and a grandson, Logan.

Patty passed away after a battle with cancer in her home on December 19, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was 68.
