Nedra “Kay” Kalb of Sapulpa, passed from this life on October 9, 2022, at home, with her daughter Dawn and son-in-law Todd by her side.
Kay was born June 15, 1938, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to James “Tiery” and Lola Webb. She graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1956. Throughout her High School years, she was active in band playing the French Horn.
She moved to Southern California in 1960 where she was active in Rodeo with the Bonanza Cast, becoming close friends Michael Landon. While in California she also sang and played the piano professionally.
Kay returned to Sapulpa, married, and had one child. She was purchasing agent for an electronics firm in downtown Tulsa, Radio, Inc. After retirement she became a substitute teacher for Sapulpa Schools.
Throughout life she was active in Red Hat Society, the Kitchen Kats, modeling for Dillard’s Department stores, traveling internationally, worship choir, and the ladies ensemble at the Sapulpa First Baptist Church. Other than her time in California she was a member of the Sapulpa First Baptist Church since 1952. She was an accomplished pianist and organist.
She was a caring and compassionate person, and everyone that met her loved her. She lost her eyesight 3 years ago, and never complained. When asked how she was, she always said “I’m blessed”. She was a Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Kay is survived by her 2 daughters Dawn Johnson and husband Todd and Cindy Rawson and husband Chris; 2 brothers Mel Webb and Jim Webb; her niece who was like a daughter to her Dara Horry and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Kalb-Johnson Family Home, 613 S. Hiawatha, Sapulpa
