Nancy Thompson

Nancy Charlotte Thompson departed this life on March 12, 2021, at the age of 73.  Nancy was born January 26, 1948, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to James G. “J.G.” and Ardith Thompson.  She, along with her older brothers, was raised in Sapulpa.  After high school, she attended the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1974.

For the last 20 years, Nancy worked as a labor and delivery nurse in Oklahoma and, most recently, in California where she resided with her life partner, Jim Wiese.  Her hardest and most rewarding work was raising five children whom she loved dearly.   She was so proud of each of them.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Charles C. Weddle III (and spouse Melanie of Edmond), Christopher Weddle (of Edmond), Chad Weddle (and spouse Rebecca of Edmond), Carey Weddle (and spouse Courtney of Jenks), and daughter Cheryl Weddle Ortiz (and spouse Tony of San Antonio, TX).  Also surviving are her two brothers, Jim Thompson (and spouse Pat of Norman) and Don Thompson (and spouse Paula of Sapulpa).  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kaden Goodwin (and spouse Alyssa and their daughter Elle Marie), Kale Goodwin, Charlie Weddle, Tristan Weddle, Yesenia Weddle, Madison Weddle, and Maggie Weddle, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  A celebration of life will be scheduled.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis which can be found online by going to GiftFunds.StJude.org and clicking on “Find a Fund” and searching for Nancy Thompson.
