Myrtle Yarger, 99, of Sapulpa formally of Austin, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at The Gardens Nursing Home, Sapulpa, OK.

Myrtle Mae Yarger departed from this life March 13th, 2018.. Myrtle was born July 26, 1918 in Tulsa County Oklahoma. Her parents were Charles Sylvester Yarger and Amanda Minerva Mitchell and she was the 10th of 12 children born to them. Her siblings were Chella Rachael, Othel Wayne, Floyd Willard, Genevieve Chrystal, Russell Vaughn, Lucille Ruth, Edwin Donald, Robert Hershel, Edna Irene, John Jay, and Kenneth Raymond. Her family moved from Indiana to Oklahoma in 1917 and her family resided in Glenpool. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

During her 1st year of life she was a casualty to the Flu Pandemic of 1918. Unfortunately during this pandemic her eardrum burst, leaving Myrtle unable to hear. This deficit didn’t slow her down, as visiting with numerous friends and family was a favorite activity as well as always being active in church. Also she was a member of the girls basketball team while attending Glenpool High School. She is the last of her immediate family to survive and will be missed by a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Smith Funeral

Chapel, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK. Interment to follow at South Heights Cemetery,
