Minnie Jo Hawkins Ballance, 62 of Sapulpa departed from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK.
Minnie Jo Hawkins Ballance was born on September 5, 1956 to Delos Hawkins and Mary Whitetail in Clinton, Oklahoma.
After graduating high school, she attended El Reno Jr College and went on to furthering her education at the University of Oklahoma. She graduated with a degree in Social Services. She was a Social Worker for 35 years an had recently retired. She loved helping others and enjoyed working with people. She has touched so many lives whether it was through work or outside everyday living. She was the most loving, kind hearted, understanding person you could ever meet.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Delos Hawkins and Mary Whitetail; three brothers, Alfred Hawkins, Delos Hawkins, Jr, and George Hawkins; and one sister, Clara Hawkins.
She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, John Ballance of the home; one son, Alviro Ballance of Tulsa, OK; three daughters, Krystal and Fred Thomas of Tulsa, OK, Alexandra and Korey Williams of Sand Springs, OK and Lindsay and Blake Smith of Sand Springs, OK; two brothers, Chief Hawkins of Oklahoma City, OK and Lightfoot Hawkins of Sapulpa, OK; one sister, Lou Carpenter of Skiatook, OK; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson, Daxx Ballance of whom she was raising. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many great friends.
She will truly be missed and forever in our hearts.
Memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Smith Funeral Chapel, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.
