Mildred Warnock

Mildred Lou McGuire Warnock was born on July 27, 1928 and passed from this life October 27, 2020 at Bristow, Oklahoma at the age of 92. Mildred was the third of six children born to Clint McGuire and Willie Lawson McGuire near Kellyville.  Mildred attended Pine Hill School at Heyburn where she played basketball.  She was asked to take care of her family at an early age taking care of her siblings and the home when her mother was hospitalized for an extended illness.

Mildred married John Warnock on October 2nd, 1946. John and Mildred were married for 68 years and had 4 children. During their marriage Mildred was a homemaker, rancher and outdoorsman.  She loved God, and attended Westside Freewill Baptist Church in Sapulpa beginning in 1967. She loved to hunt and fish and passed her love of the outdoors on to her children and grandchildren. She was the 1st woman to check in a deer when the season opened in Creek County in the early 1960’s. She loved animals of all kinds and raised many county and state fair winners including the Breed Champion Poland Breeding Gilt at the Tulsa State Fair.  She loved attending auctions of all kinds with John and they were Saturday morning regulars at Mid America Stockyards at Bristow, OK.  She loved her family and made sure they all knew about God and attended church.

Mildred is survived by her four children, daughter Barbara Lou Springs and son-in-law Charles Springs of Bristow, daughter Patricia Ann McDougal and son-in-law Larry McDougal of Bristow, son Richard Orin Warnock of Bristow and daughter Lisa Mae McCarty of Bristow including 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marzetta McGuire Armitage and brother-in-law Marland Armitage and sister-in-law Marylou McGuire. She is preceded in death by her parents Clint McGuire and Wille Lawson, sons-in-law Gene Allen Frazier and Terry Alan McCarty, daughter-in-law Rebecca Espich Warnock, brothers Marvin “Winks” McGuire, Melvin “Bub” McGuire, Millard “Preach” McGuire, sister Maridell McGuire Johnson and great granddaughter Cheyenne McDougal Humphrey.

The funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Westside Freewill Baptist Church, 1403 South Cheyenne Road, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Smith’s Funeral Home.
