Merla Rae (Varner) Spiller entered Heaven on July 3, 2022, at the age of 92. She was born on April 28, 1930, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Samuel Worley Varner and Edna Norton Varner.
She married Vern Spiller on July 29, 1950, and together they had two daughters, Diana Lynn King (Richard King), and Janice Kay Ward (Chuck Ward).
She had six grandchildren, Ky Dawn Bryant (Glen), Samuel Allen King (Lee). Amy Michelle Brown (Tony), Dana Kay Jones (Robby), Eric Ward, Eli Ward and granddaughter in-law Saundra Wood (Tim).
She also had ten great grandchildren, Quinton Kerns, Chelsea Stewart (Chevi), Tyler Brown (Anna), Aaron King, Jaycob Jones, Ethan King, Jordyn Jones, Emilly King, Erin Ward and Claire Ward.
Merla was also blessed with 3 great, great grandchildren, Kyler Stewart, Gracelynn Stewart and Liam Kerns.
She had a sister Doris Turner (Jack) of Kellyville, Oklahoma, and brother Kenneth Varner (Lois) of Salina, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vern Spiller, parents Samuel Worley and Edna Varner, son in-law Richard Campbell and great, great granddaughter Hadley Grace Stewart.
Merla was employed through Sapulpa Public Schools and was the manager of the cafeteria at the Sapulpa Middle School when it opened.
She loved genealogy, family reunions and she spent several hours at a time in Walmart.
After the loss of her husband of 69 years, she was gifted with her new baby Ivy. Ivy was her world, her little dog that went everywhere with her, including Whataburger.
