Melissa Ellis

Melissa Ann (Jenks) Ellis passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 in Glenpool, Oklahoma. She was born October 29, 1984 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ron and Becky Jenks.

Melissa was an energetic, vibrant and independent woman with a kind, sweet manner and spirit. She loved adventures, enjoyed the outdoors and was committed when pursuing fitness activities such as running and weight training. She cared deeply about animals and cherished spending time with her beloved dogs, Edward and Isabel (Izzy). She loved and valued family and friends and treasured time together with them. She appreciated and was grateful for her many ‘accomplices’ and ‘partners in crime’ as they experienced life together. She loved reading, knitting, biking, photography and was a champion in online shopping.

Melissa was active in sports growing up and dedicated years honing her talents as an accomplished softball pitcher for club and school teams. She enjoyed travel, and reflected often on her favorite destination Hawaii, where she relished the beauty and outdoor activities.

Melissa was a graduate of Glenpool High School, class of 2003, and later obtained an Associate Degree in Science. She was a valued employee in the oil and gas industry working at companies such as Kaiser-Francis Oil Co, Samson Resources, Samson Energy, and Associated Resources contracted to Cimarex Energy Co.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents Charles and Rayedelle Hill, Frank and Norma Jenks, her uncle, Alan Clingenpeel, and cherished pet family members Edward, Dixie, Winnie, Bentley, Belle, Mollie, Pancho, Samantha, Cleo, Rose, Bonnie, Clyde, and Abigail (later to be determined Abner).

She is survived by her parents, Becky Jenks of Glenpool, Oklahoma and Ron Jenks of Colcord, Oklahoma, and many aunts and uncles: Curtis and Mona Hill, Brenda and Russell Wilson, Beth and Mike Oakes, Charlie Hill, and Janet Clingenpeel; and cousins: Kaitlyn and Michael Wilson, Tyler and Rachel Oakes, Jenifer Reynolds, and Taylor Clingenpeel; many much loved second aunts, uncles and cousins, and her beloved Isabel.

A memorial service for Melissa will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service.
