Mary was born on January 17, 1950 in Bristow, Oklahoma. Mary passed away from this life on May 28, 2019 in Bristow, Oklahoma at the age of 69.
She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh with her crazy stories talking about dogs for hours (we all remember Tuffy, Missy and Shooter). She made friends everywhere she went and her customers at Welty Mini Mart loved her and loved to visit the store to chat (she had the gift of gab!). Mary was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear and you always knew where you stood with her. She either liked you or she didn’t, and as her children we are still trying to figure out which one it was for us (we know she loved us dearly).
Mary is survived by her two daughters. Regina Talamantes and husband Gabriel. Dawn Smith and husband David. Her dear grandsons Christopher Fisher and Justin Fisher and wife Nicole and one precious great grandson Tristan John Fisher. Brandon Guinn and Kimberly Franer. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Homer David Wesley, her son Robert Eugene Franer and her mother Mary Jane Gragg.
She was a master cook in the kitchen and loved to prepare food for all. She always said she went to the school of hard knocks and we were told many times how she had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school. With that said she was genuine to a fault the biggest sweetheart of a lady you will ever meet. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and caring for them.
Mary was a homemaker most of her life and she and Homer owned Welty Mini Mart for several years. Her happiest times were spending time with her family and watching movies (her favorite was scary movies). She loved being at Gabriel and Gina’s house for cook- outs and holidays. Nana was a fun and crazy mother first and foremost and greeted everyone with a hug. She treasured her grandchildren and
embraced every moment she could with them. Her role as Nana was her biggest joy in life! Nana never missed a baseball or soccer game, and yes she was one of those that had to be calmed down or she would be right out on the field fussing over her grandchildren.
So many times Nana came to the rescue to each of her kids and grandchildren and always with an open heart. She would do and give anything anyone needed and provide shelter to those in need. Our Nana may be gone but we are thankful for all the precious memories she left behind in our homes and our hearts.
She will forever live within each of us. Our
dear Nana will be missed and our hearts are
broken but we celebrate her life and always know what a blessing she was.
