Mary Roberts

Mary Maxine McGee Roberts, 93 of Sapulpa moved to heaven on Monday, August 10th, 2020. Mary passed while Chaplain Roger was singing Amazing Grace, of natural causes, in the home. She was born in Sand Springs on December 18, 1926. She left school in the eighth grade to help maintain the home. After marrying the only love of her life, R.J. (Pete) Roberts on February 12, 1944, she resided in Sapulpa where they raised their three children. She is a lover of all people and a committed daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her presence is awfully missed. Her life revolved completely around her family, friends, and church family. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the most. This enabled her to live and love generously and well. Notorious for her great generosity and outstanding work at the kitchen stove, she satisfied many a soul! The taste of her famous Chocolate Pie is still in the mouth of those who know it. Whether it be her great shrimp stew at Christmas, turkey and dressing at Thanksgiving, or just dinner, count on it being delicious! There wasn’t a cuisine she couldn’t master, a dessert she couldn’t nail! And then there was the crafter, an avid seamstress, guru at ceramics, and lots others as well. Oh, and we can’t forget the other hat of master gardener and a hostess of all hostesses. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Roberts, parents., Leonard and Blanche McGee, five siblings, Lee McGee, Jack McGee, Blanche Snow, Paul McGee, and Betty Downs, and two children, Patsy Boomer, and Richard Roberts. The welcome to heaven group is very large. She is leaving one son Robert Dean Roberts and wife Patty Roberts, son-in-law Roger Boomer, daughter-in-law Carolyn Roberts. Grandchildren Brian and Rachelle Boomer, Jim and Dana Frost, Gina and Walter Luse, Matt and Susy Roberts, Heather Lafitte, Robert Roberts, and Jessica and Dustin Ickes. Great-grandchildren Michale and Clinton Stanley, Jayla and Justin Prough, Cody and Doni Frost, Colton Boomer, Katelyn Boomer, Zane and Nathan Roberts, Brenna Cooper, Isabella and Aubrey Ickes. Great-great-grandchildren Eden and Barrett Frost, Elijah Prough, and Claire and Annalyse Stanley. The family has planned and scheduled a Memorial Service for Mary on their own. It will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at Crossview Church (formerly June Rose) 17061 S. Hickory Sapulpa, OK.
