Mary Jane Guess

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jane Guess, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished Nana and a pillar of strength in our lives. She bravely fought a strong and courageous battle against cancer.  Mary peacefully departed from this world on October 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on August 7, 1965  in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the fourth daughter of six beautiful children, to her loving parents John and Theresa Learn.

In 2016, Mary embarked on a journey of love and commitment when she married the love of her life, Dan Guess. Their enduring bond was a testament to the power of love, and together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared dreams, unwavering support and the cool breeze of the open road.

As a mother, Mary was unparalleled. She poured her heart and soul into raising her daughters, Jessica and Cassie, stepson, Brandon and stepdaughter, Danielle, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and resilience. Her love knew no bounds. Her children always knew they had a rock to lean on, no matter the circumstance.  Her legacy shines through in the character endowed to them.

Mary’s greatest joy came from being a Nana. She adored her granddaughters Calynn, Caylee, Rayna, Liberty, Talyn and Arieyah. The time spent with them brought her immeasurable happiness. Whether it was exchanging stories, sharing Charlie’s chicken or delivering a world class Nana’s warm embrace, she made every moment special.

Mary had a zest for life that was infectious and her enthusiasm was shared with friends and family alike, creating cherished memories for all. From cast of the salon to the characters of Bikes, Blues and BBQ, she bestowed smiles and happiness to all.

Throughout her life, Mary demonstrated unshakable faith, grace, and courage, especially during her battle with cancer. Her determination inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and will continue to galvanize those lucky folks for ages.

Mary Jane Guess leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Guess, her children and their spouses, Jessica and Noah Nichols, Cassie and Casey Day, Brandon Guess, and Danielle Guess and her adoring grandchildren, Calynn Day, Caylee Day, Rayna Nichols, Liberty Nichols, Talyn Nichols, and Arieyah Thomasee. She also leaves behind her mother, Theresa Learn, siblings, Lorraine Arthurs, Marjorie Allert, Karen Stewart, Chris Learn and Bridget Learn Henderson, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Hill Funeral Home located at 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, 74066. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the same location.

As we say our final goodbyes to Mary, let us remember her as a source of love, strength, and inspiration. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts and her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
