Marty, as many of her friends call her, was born Mary Elaine Griffin to Hugh and Margie Griffin, on July 14th, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the 4th of 6 children.
She graduated from Daniel Webster High School then attended Oklahoma University.
She married Jerry Hausner on October 20, 1967
Mary started her working career as a 10 key operator for Shell Oil Company in Tulsa and was there until they moved their operations to Houston, Texas. She worked most of her life in the home healthcare field.
She was an active member of Praise Center Ministries in Sapulpa and she loved the Lord. Mary was also a 40 year member of the Home & Community Education Club, Sapulpa chapter, where she served in many capacities and as an officer on many occasions and she was currently serving as their Treasure. OHCE has 11 chapters that serve their communities in several ways by meeting peoples needs and awards several scholarships to deserving students each year.
She loved to travel and visited many cities and areas in the United States and abroad. She particularly loved her visit to Washington D.C. when her son Steven was stationed there at Andrews Air Force Base.
Mary is proceeded in death by her mother and father, sister Lois and brother Perry.
She is survived by her son Steven of Sapulpa, brother Gene and his wife Carol of Texas, sister Susie and her husband Wilbert of Hectorville, brother Dan and his wife Janice of Skiatook and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Mary Elaine Hausner will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, 1:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home
