Mary Joyce Buckley, 84, of Sapulpa went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born September 14, 1935, in Beggs, Oklahoma to Jim and Mae Messer. She was employed by Liberty Glass and retired after 33 years. After retirement, she was excited to earn her cosmology license and practiced her skills on family and friends.
Mary met and later married Wayne Buckley of Sapulpa and recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. They both were members of Victory Christian church in Tulsa.
Mary enjoyed spending time caring for the flowers and birds in her yard, tryout out new recipes in her kitchen, or toiling in her garden that was often a site of amazement to those that passed by her home. However, there was nothing more important to Mary than her family. Mary’s life centered on her family. First came her daughter Bennie, and then her grandchildren Steve and Mendy. In the last years of her life, all her energy was focused on her great-grandchildren. All were blessed by her involvement in their lives.
She is survived by her loving husband Wayne, Daughter Bennie McCormick, Grandchildren Steve McCormick, and Mendy Mundy; Great-grandchildren Mason McCormick, Parker McCormick, Carter Mundy, Max Mundy, and Beckett Mundy; Brother Charles Messer; Sister Wanda Draeger and a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation from 6-8pm, Friday, August 14, 2020 at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma. Services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, August 15, 2020 also at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville with burial to follow at Mounds Cemetery.
