Mary Joann Barger passed from this life on February 18, 2022, at the age of 84. Joann was born on January 28th, 1938, in Wynona, Oklahoma. Joann married Robert Barger on June 29th, 1956. Mimi shared 61 wonderful years with him ‘Poppie’ until his passing in 2017. Joann, or ‘Mimi’ to the grandkids, loved spending time with her family and sharing her wonderful cooking skills with all who gathered at her table. Professionally Joann worked for Citgo Petroleum in Tulsa for 24 years as a branding/marketing specialist.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma, and Everett Ryan; Husband, Robert; Brother, Louis Ryan; Sister Anna Mae Brandon.
Joann is survived by her children: Darla Gowdy, Dudley & Darla Barger, Jodi & Brandon Boyd, Grandchildren: Dana & Mike Thomas, Charley Logan, Beau Barger, Kyle Keener, Dawson Barger, Skyler Barger, Hannah Boyd, Great grandchildren: Bryce Bittner, Mikayla Thomas, Isabella Thomas, Jackson Logan, Emily Logan; Great-great grandchild: Madelynne Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 25th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel 1208 South Main in Sapulpa. Graveside service to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford.
