Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend, Macel Detricia (Self) Pendergrass passed from this earth on Saturday, the 18th of August, 2018, in Sapulpa, Okla., surrounded by her loving family.
Macel was born in Poteau, Okla. on the 2nd of April, 1926, to Martin Eugene and Margie Mae Self. She married Wilburn Curtis Pendergrass on the 5th of June, 1943, in Sapulpa, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings Jewel “Jude” Bernard Ben, Christine Wickham, Louise Pendergrass, and Arland Self; grandchildren William “Bo” Berryhill, Derrick Carner, and Joey Dingfelder; great grandchild Jaxxson Allen.
Macel is survived by children Sandra Kay Ramsey of Sapulpa, Frankie Pendergrass of Beggs, Jackie Pendergrass and wife Carol of Beggs, Curtis Pendergrass and David of Tulsa, Patricia Carner of Sapulpa, Timothy Pendergrass and wife Vivian of Bowman, North Dakota, Gary Pendergrass and wife Karen of Beggs;15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; sister Joyce Gillihan; sister-in-law Lois Self; brother-in-law Glen Pendergrass. She leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Assurance Church, Mounds, Okla., Tuesday, the 21st of August, 2018 at 2:00 PM, Reverend Jack Carner officiating. Interment followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Sapulpa, Okla. Pallbearers were Macel’s grandsons, Kevin Carner, Junior Pendergrass, Stevie Pendergrass, Mark Pendergrass, Terrance Pendergrass, and Cooper Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearers were Macel’s great grandsons.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home 1208 South Main in Sapulpa.
