Lynn Yvonne King was born February 26, 1955 in Okmulgee the daughter of Rex and Wilma (Sheward) Murphy. She passed from this life on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 63 years.
Lynn moved from Okmulgee to Carson, California as a child and graduated from Carson High School. She moved to Tulsa in 1978 and attended and graduated from Southern Nazarene University where she obtained her
Bachelor’s degree. Lynn was a retired human resource specialist for Southwestern Power Administration where she had worked for 27 ½ years. She loved helping people and animals and had a very giving heart. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her survivors include husband, Gary King of West Tulsa; daughter, Jennifer King of West Tulsa, mother, Wilma Cummings of Sapulpa; brother, Rex Murphy and wife, Karla of Slick; nephew, Russell Murphy of Texas; niece, Alyson Murphy of Slick and a great nephew, Gatlin Guffey of Slick. She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Murphy and her stepfather, Robert Cummings.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am, Friday, September 14, 2018 in the Heath-Griffith Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home and an online guestbook is available by visiting www.heathgriffithfuneralhome.com.
