Lorene Searcy

Lorene was born April 6, 1927 in Bixby, Oklahoma, on the farm of her parents, Silas and Sarah Bingham Bell, and passed from this life on August 13, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma.

She was married at the age of 14 to Lawrence Wells.  They had three children, Patsy, Lonnie, and Lawrence Jr., who died at birth.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Fuller and her husband, Jim, one granddaughter, Elizabeth Wagoner and her husband, Kelly. five great grandchildren, Kathleen and Will Wright, Stephani Wagoner, William Jones, Talia Abrams and her husband, Jim, Christopher Calkins, and seven great, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Lorene was preceded in death by her sons, Lonnie Wells and Lawrence Wells, Jr., husband Lawrence Wells, husband, Henry Nichols, husband Allen Searcy, granddaughter Susan Calkins Jones, who is buried next to her special Grandma Searcy in Bixby, Oklahoma, five sisters and six brothers, John Bell, Fred Bell, Herman Bell, Leona Bolton, Edna Vanarsdel, Silas “Jack” Bell, Zelona Bowman, H. A. Bell, Mary Bowman, Bobby Bell, Anna Lee, and son-in-law, Larry Calkins.
She loved spending time with her family, and she loved talking and fishing.  Lorene was a wonderful cook until macular degeneration robbed her of her vision.  She loved and was loved by most everyone she met.  Lorene was a Christian and Baptist.  She was a gentle woman.  She was looking forward to meeting her parents and all her loved ones, after she met her God!  She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones left behind.  I love you so much Mama, and will miss you more than words can say.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, August 17 from 4-7 PM at Smith Funeral Home.
Services will be held Thursday, August 18 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Smith Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Bixby Cemetery following the Service.
