Linda Pogue

Linda Carolyn Pogue, 75, peacefully passed from this life on November 4, 2021.

Linda was born on November 19, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Carl B. and Irene Estelle Reneau. She graduated from Sapulpa High School. She then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. While in school there, she also met and wed the love of her life, Rowland C. Pogue Jr., on December 21, 1968. They celebrated 53 years of marriage together.

Linda was a gifted artist with a large range of talents. She could draw, paint, sculpt, and write intricate, beautiful calligraphy. She loved the rustic beauty of an old, worn barn, a rural road, and wintry tree branches and would take pictures on road trips so that she could paint them at home later. She also spent many years doing woodworking and making crafts, such as animal shaped puzzles and nativity scenes.

Her first job out of college was as an art teacher in Tulsa, where she began her lifelong career as a teacher. As much as Linda was an amazing artist, she was also a gentle soul. She loved teaching children and dedicated her life to it. She was a beloved teacher to many that passed through her classroom.

Linda was a loving, warm, thoughtful, smart, witty and kind person. She lived strongly in her faith throughout her life and was pure in heart. She was loved most dearly and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Larry, and her son, Michael.

Linda is survived by her husband Rowland, her daughter, Amy, and her grandson, Ryder.
