Lena Halford

The family of Lena Halford sadly announces the death of our dear mother and grandmother. She passed peacefully in the presence of loved ones Friday, March 4th, 2022. She was 89.

Sharing a dream to buy land and build a country home, Lena and Farrell Halford moved to Creek County in 1980. With the help of family, they built their home near Kellyville and joyfully shared an abundant life together until Farrell’s death. They loved their families and generously hosted gatherings for years. Lena was a talented cook and was renowned for her biscuits, gravy and fry bread. Both enjoyed travel and they motored to many states visiting beloved family and dear friends. Favorite memories included camping in Oregon where they fished for salmon in the Columbia River. To her surprise, their travels included foreign adventures. Lena was never fond of airplane travel but she agreed to visit Germany and France where Farrell had served during World War II. She was grateful family members shared that trip, and cherished lovely memories of the journey.

After her beloved Farrell’s death in 2000, Lena stayed busy with many activities at home and her church. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Sapulpa where she worshiped and actively participated in many Young at Heart gatherings. A strong believer in helping those in need, Lena was a devoted Food Pantry volunteer for several years. She also volunteered to visit church members who could no longer attend services in person.

In addition to her adored husband Farrell, Lena was preceded in death by her eldest son Earnie Frost, who passed shortly before her. She is survived by her son David Frost of Kellyville, her daughter, Connie, and daughter-in-law, Sharon; her grandsons Daniel Frost (Susan) of Tahlequah; Jeremy Frost of Pennsylvania; Johnathon Frost (Aubrie) of Owasso; granddaughter, Jennifer Brake (Stephen) of Sapulpa and many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, and extended relatives. Lena also is survived by many dear and sweet friends and her special kitty, Puddy Cat.
