Larry Don Wolfe, 77, passed away Tuesday morning, August 3, 2021, at his home in Bixby, Oklahoma. Larry was born July 11, 1944, to Leo and Clara Marguerite (English) Wolfe in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the third child of six children. He graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1963 and attended the University of Tulsa in 1982, graduating with a degree in Education and received a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Chapman University. Larry served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1965-1968, serving two tours in Vietnam. He received several commendations, citations, and campaign awards, including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patty Ann (Thoos) Wolfe. They met on a tennis court in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in the summer of 1964 and married on October 24, 1969. In 1982, Larry began his lifetime career as an elementary school teacher at Pretty Water Elementary School and retired in 2007 from Hesperia Elementary School District in California and moved back with his family to their home state of Oklahoma in 2010. Larry loved sports, he played baseball in high school, and his favorite team was the LA Dodgers. He also enjoyed traveling with family, playing guitar, disc golf, and watching various sports on television. He enjoyed playing board games and spending time with his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, LaDon (Michael Gurule) Wolfe and Damion (Sarah Singleton) Wolfe; grandchildren, Grace Wolfe and Elise Wolfe; brothers, Loman (Charlene) Wolfe, Leo (Jeniece) Wolfe, and Phillip Wolfe; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Darrell (Carroll) Wolfe.
