Larry O’Neal

Larry Dee O’Neal 65, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2021 surrounded by his family and friends.

Larry was born February 1, 1956 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Bill and Betty O’Neal.   He graduated from Kellyville High School with the class of 1974.   After graduation, he worked for Lowrance Electronics as customer service manager for over 20 years before going to work at Ridgeway Baptist Church.   For the last 20 years, he has worked in the mortgage and insurance industry and recently retired.  He served two terms on the Sapulpa City Council along with numerous church boards and committees.

Larry met his wife, Tammy, at Sunrise Baptist Church in Kellyville in 1971 where his future father-in-law, John Bliss, was pastor.   John married them at that same church on October 15, 1976 and they were happily married for 45 years.  From this marriage came their children, Christy and Brad. Larry was the most supportive and loving husband and father.  Being Papa to two beautiful granddaughters, Mia and Jaina, was the joy of his life.

Time spent with family and friends while laughing, enjoying a meal and making memories was very important to him.  He was a gentle and loving person who loved to share his faith in God. He and Tammy loved to travel in their RV and seeing the wonder of God’s creation around the country. They also loved to spend time with dear friends having movie nights and spending time together. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and many were known to reach out to him for information and advice.

He was survived by his loving wife Tammy of the home, daughter Christy and Jamie Tate of Arkansas, son Brad O’Neal of Mayfield, Kentucky, granddaughters Mia McLaughlin  and Jaina O’Neal.   His surviving siblings are Debbie Edmisten and her husband Charlie of Kellyville, brother Mark O’Neal and his wife Denise of Cleveland, brother Joey O’Neal and his wife Bekkie of Claremore, and sister-in-law LaNay Cosby and husband Todd of Sapulpa.    He also had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved with all his heart.   He had precious friendships that he counted as family as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Betty O’Neal of Kellyville and his brother Bill O’Neal Jr. of Kellyville.

Services will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 2pm at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville, Oklahoma.
