Lana Jean Holmes, 64, of Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2020.
Lana was born March 26, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Alma Jean Been and Landon Wright. She attended Sapulpa Schools and Sapulpa Beauty College. Lana met and married the love of her life, Randy Holmes in 1975. They welcomed their son, James Randall Holmes, Jr. into the world in 1976. Lana attended Praise Fellowship, Sapulpa for many years.
She was a hair dresser in Sapulpa where she made many lifelong friends and eventually opened her own salon, called “Scruples”. After 30 years in the business, she decided to take a different route and try a career in the restaurant industry. In 2005, Lana opened her first restaurant in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, “Chef’s Coney Connection”, where she met many loyal customers who turned into very dear friends.
She never let anyone go hungry, she fed those who were in need of a meal, without question.
In 2019, Lana knew it was time to retire and enjoy life at home, so she sold “Chef’s Coney Connection” and did just that.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Lana was a very strong-willed Christian lady who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was caring, compassionate, loyal and a very hard worker, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She was loved and admired by so many, and she will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
We take comfort in knowing her body is whole and she is dancing on the streets of Gold. “Welcome Home Lana Jean!”
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Holmes, of Tulsa, OK; son, James Holmes and Kristi, of Winganon, Ok; granddaughter, Alexis Holmes, of Tulsa, Ok; grandson, Blake Holmes of Tulsa, OK; bonus granddaughter, Hayley Bakovic and husband Davor of Jenks, OK; brothers, Sammy Belvin of Shawnee, OK, Terry Ogburn, Of Chickasha, OK, Teddy Ogburn of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters, Carolyn Wingrey of Chickasha, OK, Elizabeth Winfrey of Ada, OK, Donna Ragsdale of Bixby, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
