LaDonne Smith, 74, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends.
LaDonne was born on December 21, 1947 in McAlester, OK to Charles and Clotheal Damron. LaDonne was the oldest of 3 children. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1966. In 1970, LaDonne earned a nursing degree from Lawton Vocational of Practical Nursing. LaDonne worked as a nurse in the Dallas, Texas area for over 30 years. She moved to Sapulpa in 2003 and was married to Henry Smith who passed away on February 1, 2022.
LaDonne was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa, where she worked in the kitchen and helped with the Awanas program. LaDonne often made her “legendary banana pudding”, which became a church luncheon favorite.
During her retirement years, LaDonne enjoyed traveling, shopping at garage sales and thrift stores, and spending time with her family.
LaDonne is preceded in death by her husband Henry Smith and her parents Charles and Clotheal Damron.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Keigley and husband Ben of Sapulpa, her son Frank Evens and wife Dawn Marie of Sapulpa, daughter Lisa Wiggins and husband Gary of Garland, Texas, and daughter Leslie Preston and husband Paul of Tulsa. LaDonne is also survived by her sister Gail McGee and husband Andy of Ponca City, Ok and her brother Dr. Alan Damron and wife Sarah of Superior, Montana. 11 grandchildren an 18 great grandchildren.
LaDonne loved and was loved by all who knew her, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
