Julia Marie (Chlebuch) Ash

Julia Marie (Chlebuch) Ash passed away April 20, 2018 at her home in Broken Arrow. She was born November 12, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph Chlebuch and Joan Riley.

Julia was a hard worker and always worked multiple jobs. She worked as a prison guard, factory worker, as a secretary at Bartlett Collins Glass and as a bartender. She was always taking classes and continuing her education. She had a bachelor’s degree and was interested in Social Work.

Julia had many interests. She loved cooking and baking. She was famous for her apple cake and her mayonnaise cake. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing bingo, going to the casino, camping, sewing, crafting, bird watching, crime shows, volunteering at the softball fields, all sorts of music, from the song Teddy Bear to rock music and Blake Shelton. Her favorite team was the Philadelphia Phillies. She always loved going back home to New Jersey to visit family and friends. Julia found her greatest joy in her family. She searched for her brother John, who she had been separated from during childhood, for 50 years. She searched until they were reunited. She was a very driven and determined individual. She attended every sporting event, school event, play and activity for her grandchildren that she could. She loved being with her children and grandchildren as often as possible. She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother. She often told others what good kids she had, right up to the end of her illness, saying, “I have good kids” and “All my kids are good.”

Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years David Ash; her mother and 2 sisters. She leaves behind 3 children, Juliane “Peanut” McMurray and husband James; William “Billy” Studstill and wife Heather; Karen Franklin and husband Monty; 3 step-children, Barbara “Gi” Ash; Paul Ash; and Missy Ash. She is also survived by brother John Van Geyten; grandchildren Alison Peter, Nicholas Paul, Stephanie Paul, Moncia Franklin, Grant McMurray, Jasmine Simmons, Caitlin Studstill, Willow Studstill, Lilly Studstill, Jordan Ash, Madison Ash, Anthony Pool, Emilee Ash, Brittany Ash, Dallas Hughes, Susie Hughes, Jonathan Ash and William Nelson; great-grandson Leo Hopson; and her best friend of many years, her “ride or die,” Colleen “Queenie” Wilson of New Jersey.

Julia’s family will forever miss seeing her beautiful, bright, blue eyes and her engaging smile. They loved her greatly and will continue her legacy of love for family throughout their lives.
