Joyce Marie Gillihan, 85, passed away May 18, 2022 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Born January 31, 1937 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Martin Eugene and Margie Mae (Brown) Self. She entered this world a fighter, weighing just above one pound at birth, so tiny she slept in her dad’s shoebox…and of course, she left this world a fighter. Joyce worked as a factory worker at Bartlett Collins, Liberty Glass, and Kerr Glass before retiring. However, she was not known for sitting around, she continued to stay busy working winters on a pecan farm along-side her son, Terry. She loved a good game of Farkle, dominos, playing cards, going to bingo, and we know she rarely passed up a trip to the casino. She enjoyed crocheting, making many blankets for family and friends to enjoy for a lifetime. She had many teasing conversations about who her favorites are of the grandkids and great grandkids…her words were always, “I have no favorites, I love all my grandkids” …we all know that each of us were actually her favorite, in our own way, that was special to her. How lucky are we to have another beautiful guardian angel looking over us! She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edmond Gillihan; her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Kenneth Passmore; her son Carl Watson; daughter-in-law Marilyn Triplett; brother Arlan Self; sisters Christine Wickham, Jude Bernard, Macel Pendergrass, Louise Pendergrass. Joyce is survived by her two sons, Keith Douglas and Terry Douglas; daughters Charlotte (Phillip) Milligan and Debbie (Red) Henry; sister-in-law Lois Self; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, and a host of other extended family members and friends. Viewing will be from 4PM – 8PM, Monday, May 23, 2022 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Green Hill Funeral Home, 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
