John McCormick, 81, of Sapulpa, stepped into heaven on April 22, 2022, at his home in Sapulpa.
John was born February 24, 1941in Drumright, Oklahoma, to John E. and Laverne McCormick. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1959 and attended one year at Oklahoma State University.
He began his working career in the data processing department of Bartlett Collins Glass Company. He then worked for several companies in Tulsa including Otasco, Bethlehem Steel, The Williams Company and WorldCom. He later worked for Jarvis Security and retired as a security guard.
John met and married Grace Brewer of Sapulpa. They celebrated 61 years of marriage last October. He was a member of First Christian Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder.
John loved to fish and play golf. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He had a caring and compassionate heart and was always willing to give a helping hand. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
John is survived by his loving wife Grace; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Rhonda McCormick of Grove and daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Gene House of Sapulpa; and son-in-law Bryan Sinor of Sapulpa; grandchildren J.K and Melissa McCormick of Emporia, Kansas, April and Eric Henry of Glenpool, Cory Sinor of Sapulpa, KayLee Hacker of Dallas, Texas, Chase and Mariah Sinor of Tulsa, Brady Hacker of Tulsa, great-grandchildren Ellie Henry of Glenpool and Sophia and Jayden Hartsfield of Tulsa. John is also survived by two brothers Robert E McCormick of Sapulpa and Steve and Salli McCormick of Sapulpa.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Laverne McCormick and two daughters Kimberly McCormick and Kelly Lynn Sinor.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Sapulpa.
