John Elmer Ausmus, Jr. age 94 of Howe, Tx., passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born August 29, 1927 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to John Elmer and Lula May (Iker) Ausmus. After graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1945, John joined the Navy. While serving in the Navy, John was awarded the Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal.
John is survived by his children, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Maxine Johnston, Mary Acree, and brothers Bill Ausmus and David Gene Ausmus. A celebration of life will be held at Waldo Funeral Home in the Family Center in Sherman, Tx., Nov. 6 ,2021, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks to consider donations to Cal Farley’s Boys’ Ranch.
