Jimmy Ray Whitehouse was born November 20, 1941 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to parents Luther Franklin and Louise Whitehouse. He went to be with the Lord and was re-united with his wife Betty Jane in Heaven on May 25, 2018.
Jimmy met Betty Jane Lovett at church when she was just 13 years old. They fell in love and were later married on June 10, 1960. The couple was blessed with four sons; David, Don, Dean and Darrell. Jimmy cared for Betty through an extended illness until she went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2008. They had almost 48 years together.
Jimmy was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the Colorado mountains and took his boys there every year while they were growing up. He was an avid bow hunter. He was the founder and first President of the Creek County Bow Hunters Association. He designed and built archery related products for the industry. He worked for Big Four Foundry for 25 years and then was owner of Whitehouse Enterprises, Inc. until his retirement.
His boys remember him as a father who took the time to teach them to hunt and fish, to have a backbone and good morals – how to be a man. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed teasing and playing with his great-grandchildren and was known to “wind them up” and then go home. Family was important to Jimmy and he loved them all very much. Jimmy’s family will cherish their many memories of time spent together until they are once again re-united in Heaven.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Louise Whitehouse and his wife of 47 years, Betty Jane Whitehouse. He is survived by his son David Whitehouse and wife Trena of Sapulpa; son Don Whitehouse and wife Denisa of Broken Arrow; son Dean Whitehouse of Sand Springs; son Darrell Whitehouse and wife Louise of Mounds; brother Dan Whitehouse and wife Carmelita of Sapulpa, OK; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many more extended family and friends.
