Jimmy Don Jackson was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to V. Ilene Lay and James Claud Jackson on September 28, 1962 and joined the Heavenly Rock Band on July 2nd, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Jannie Jackson and Paul Fish and father-in-law Leonard Fay James. He is survived by his wife Susie Wanice Jackson, son James David Jackson and Brittany Chrystal Wilson, daughter Teagan Dawn Jackson and Christopher Joseph Filip, grandson David Don Jackson, parents James Claud and Joyce Jackson and Lester and Ilene Lawson, brother David Allen and wife Carrie Jackson, sister Karen Christine Jackson Dunaway and husband David Lee Dunaway, grandmother Christenia Maradeana Fish, mother-in-law Mary Margaret James, uncle Edwin Clinton and wife Nancy Lay, step-siblings Keith and wife Rona Lawson and Penny Hughes and Jill and husband Johnny Jones and Jennie Morris and Jerry and his wife Amanda Heller and Shermaine and husband Dale Napier, brother-in-law Ricky Lynn and wife Lisa James and Leonard Wayne and wife Linda James, cousins Edwin Jr. and wife Teresa Lay and Keri Darlene Lay and Shelly and husband Dan Jackson and their children, nephews Ricky Fay James and Dylan Thomas James and Connor Winslow Jackson Dunaway and Ryan James Jackson and Jackson Prescott Walker Dunaway and Logan Lee Jackson Dunaway and David McKay Jackson Dunaway and Kevin Arthur James Jackson and Adam Christopher Claude Jackson, and nieces Samantha Gayle James and Salem Christine Dunaway. Jim graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1980 before he served in the Navy for four years. After his service he married Susie, his loving wife of 30 years, on May 25th, 1990 and moved to Broken Arrow where he raised his family. After graduating from Spartan Aeronautics, he built a successful career of nearly 25 years as an aeronautics mechanic and a self-proclaimed “plane doctor” at American Airlines. He was quick witted and happy, and he enjoyed his recliner, sports cars, music, playing guitar, fishing, hunting, playing golf, spending time with family, and making others laugh. He was an accomplished chef and master of the grill and smoker. Jim was a proud father of his son James (24) and daughter Teagan (22) who were the joy of his life and he was excited to welcome his first grandchild David Don Jackson. Family was the most important aspect of Jim’s life.
