Jimmy Darrell Burleson Sr was born March 29th, 1938 in Weleetka Oklahoma to John & Jane Burleson. He had three older siblings, John, Billy and Betty. In 1952 the family moved to Wolf Oklahoma where he eventually met his future wife, Barbara Richards. They were married on July 20th 1957, recently having celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He joined the National Guard when he was 16 years old serving in B Company, 180 Infantry Regiment. He provided for his family by working 22 years as a pumper in the oil fields. He drove a truck for 13 years and finally ended his career as a consultant for the oil & gas industry. He enjoyed camping, fishing, RVing, the Wolf annual alumni banquets, his McDonald’s breakfast friends, cruising on his golf cart while enjoying just being outside for a breath of fresh air but mostly he enjoyed his family. He believed in always doing the right thing, put your family first and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He believed you should always put a smile on your face and even if you don’t feel well you need to give what you’re doing the best you have to give.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Jenks; his brother John and wife, Doris of Norman; son, Jimmy Burleson Jr and wife, Connie of Sapulpa; son, Mark Burleson and wife, Ramona of Elk City; daughter, Jane Hendon and husband, David of Jenks and daughter, Lisa Reichert and husband, Phil of Jenks. Grandchildren: Jennifer Kieseswetter, Derick Strong, Alan Burleson, Mathew Burleson, Kathryn Weaver and Brant Weaver; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He truly never met a stranger and will be missed every day by so many.
