On Saturday, November 14, 2020, Jim Parker, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 75. Jim was born on May 30, 1945 in Sapulpa, OK to Robert and Elva (Romine) Parker. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1963 and began his career in the construction trades as a pipefitter shortly after. He would eventually go on to add electrical and heat & air licenses to his list of skills. Combining those skills Jim went into home construction, where he would continue to build homes in and around Sapulpa until his passing. In 1965 he married Tresia Jean Marcum. They raised a son and daughter, Jimmy and Angie. After her long battle with cancer, he lost Tresia in 1996. In 1998, he married Ann Morgan and added her two children, Ronda and Rob, to the family. Jim had a passion for the horses and was a fixture at local tracks like Oaklawn and Fair Meadows for many of the last 45 years. He and Ann loved to travel and spend time with family and good friends. Often, they would combine those two loves, as he rarely missed attending the Arkansas Derby. Jim was a good friend and mentor to many and was always willing to help solve a problem. He was generous with his time and was quick to help out those in need, day or night. Jim was a man known for his sense of humor, his love of the St. Louis Cardinals and friendly smile that was always there under the ever-present Cardinals ballcap. It is for all of those qualities, and then some, that he will be greatly missed. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his mother Elva, his first wife, Tresia, siblings, Kay, Dan, Sonny, Michael, and Shirley. He is survived by his wife Ann, his brother Dennis, his sisters Patsy Strong, Linda Parker, and Sue Burke, his children Jimmy (Lisa), Angie (Jesse), Ronda, and Rob, five grandchildren, Lauren (Joey), Jordan, Morgan, Brady and Kaden, as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Lyra and Lux. *****Services pending and will be announced once the family is fully able to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Jim’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. web address – https://www.stjude.org/donate/pm.html?sc_dcm=51819438917&sc_cid=kwp75544&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt-nh1smP7QIVZBtlCh2j3geiEAAYAiAAEgIMtPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds (Donate by Phone: (800) 478-5833)
