Jeanette Frances Poston, currently of Owasso, Oklahoma was born June 7, 1952 to Frank and Norma Penn in Bristow, Oklahoma. She departed this life November 30, 2020 at the age of 68 years 5 months and 23 days.
Growing up in and around the Bristow area, Jeanette found her soulmate and life’s love when she began dating Stephen Poston. Upon graduating from Bristow High School on May 29th, the two were married May 30, 1970. She always enjoyed telling people, “yes, the next day; and no, she did not have to”. Jeanette and Stephen spent 50 years united in marriage and there were few if any dull moments. Life took them many places. Together, Jeanette and Stephen raised their two children, Tara and Scott. She worked in Pawhuska for twenty-two years as a club manager at the local ELKS Lodge. Jeanette loved the Lord and served him faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church where she and Stephen were members. Jeanette held many titles throughout her life, but none brought her more joy than those of wife, mom, and grandma. She loved spending time with family, particularly her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with the sweet smell of baking. As well, Jeanette enjoyed reading, working puzzles and coloring in adult coloring books.
She is survived by her husband Stephen of the Owasso home; two children, Tara Hill and Scott Poston; three brothers, Larry Penn, Danny Penn, Keith Penn and one sister, Nancy Blosch; four grandchildren, Cody Hill, Lane Hill, Elizabeth Poston, Easton Poston and one great-grandchild, Lorelei Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents.
