Janetta Smith

Janetta died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at Ambassador Manor in Tulsa. She was 93 years old. She lived at Hickory Crossing in Sapulpa for almost 23 years. She was one of the original residents. Thanks to all the residents that looked in on her and brought her food.

Janetta was born October 25, 1928 at home on Cherry Street in West Plains, Missouri to W. Henry McCrackin and Maggie McCrackin. She moved to Sapulpa, OK at the age of 2. Her parents ran a grocery store and later were owners of Sapulpa Feed Store. Janetta graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1946. She married George Smith on June 7, 1946. They were married for 51 years at the time of Georges death in 1997.

Janetta had several jobs which were at Bartlett Collins, Sapulpa Feed Store, Liberty Glass, Tru Discount, Rathbones, Anthonys, Atwoods and she retired from Walmart. She was a Pink Lady at St. John Sapulpa and volunteered at Sapulpa Historical Museum. She loved MASH and loved old movies and Word Search Puzzles.

Her family that she has joined are her husband George Smith, her son Michieal Smith, and her daughter Cynthia Lang, her parents WH and Maggie McCrackin, her sister and her husband Gladis and Worrell Ziegler and her brother and his wife Cecil and Hazel McCrackin, her niece Nancy Boren, the Smith relatives Charles and Lydia Smith, Kenneth Smith, Gerald Smith, Sybil Moss and a niece Karen Smith.

She is survived  by granddaughter Scarlett Tripp, daughter-in-law Karen Smith and great grandson Tristen, son-in-law Jimi Lang, sister-in-law Barbara Smith and niece Leslie and Jim Schornak.

Her service will be Wednesday August 3rd at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 am. Brady Thelander officiating.

Visitation will be on August 2nd from 5-7 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel.

Final Resting Place will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
