James Whinery

James “Jim” Dale Whinery was born on June 30, 1959, in Sapulpa, OK to William Dean Whinery and Linda Pearl Higgins-Whinery. He passed away in Tulsa, OK, August 30, 2021 at the age of 62. James graduated from Sapulpa High School. He was passionate about our country and served in the U.S. Army for 6 years; he flew huey helicopters. He had three sons and two stepdaughters. James was the best mechanic around for many years and recently retired. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, grilling food, watching Dallas Cowboys and Sooners play football and loved spending time with his family. He loved to joke around and make people laugh! He was loyal and loved his friends and family deeply. He would help anyone he could. He lived life to the fullest. James was preceded in death by his father, William Whinery, his mother Linda Higgins-Whinery and his brother Billy Whinery. He is survived by his wife; Pamala Sue Whinery, Sons James Whinery, Dwight Whinery, Chris Whinery and daughters Treva Zlata and Kristy Ingram, as well as his brothers, Larry Whinery and Terry Whinery. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren who adored him. We will do an Outdoor Service at the Veterans Shelter at Green Hills Cemetery on September 8th, 2021 at 2:00pm and immediately follow with a “Celebration of his Life” with food, drinks and a memorial video at his daughter’s home at 8140 S. Yukon Ave, Tulsa OK 74132. He will be truly missed by so many!
