James Varner

James M. Varner was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on February 23, 1928 to the late Noah Oscar Varner & Stella (Palmer) Varner.  He passed from this life in Tulsa on July 2, 2021 at the age of 93 years, 4 months, & 9 days.

 

James was raised & educated in the Sapulpa & Pretty Water area. He married Ada Jean Kelly & they raised 3 sons. James served his country in the United States Army during WW II. After the service, they made their home in West Tulsa, Prattville, & finally settled in Mannford in 1963 where he remained until his death.  James had worked as a shop foreman for C-E NATCO for 35 years until his retirement.  He then worked for his son at Varner Fabrication in Mannford.  James enjoyed many things in life, especially woodworking.  He was known for making beautiful child size furniture and other items.  In addition to his parents, her was preceded in death by his wife in 1989; 2 sons: Terry & Gary; brother: Samuel; & sister: Florence.

 

His remaining family includes a son: James Michael Varner & wife Myla of Mannford; Grandchildren: Chris – Brian – Amanda – Scotque – James II – & Mary Elizabeth; Numerous Great & Great Great Grandchildren, plus Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & friends.
