James “Jay” W. Clark was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on January 10, 1941 to parents Paul and Irene (Lee) Clark. He passed away on July 21, 2018 at the Claremore Nursing Home at the age of 77.
Jay grew up in Okmulgee and lived in Sapulpa. He moved to Pryor 23 years ago. He spent 58 years as a barber. Jay married Mary (Edwards) in Pryor on March 18, 1995. He enjoyed camping, fishing and turkey shoots. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes and stories from his childhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and his son Kevin. He is survived by his wife Mary Clark, of Pryor; 9 children, Shirley Sue Gahan of California, James Clark of Wagoner, Lonnie Clark of Arkansas, Gail Clark of Okmulgee, Robert Clark of Tulsa, Jarrod Clark of Tulsa, Michelle Clevenger of Owasso, Johnnie Stookey of Inola and Jimmy Stookey of Claremore; 17 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
