James Chapman

James Lee Chapman 54, of Vera, Oklahoma passed from this life on August 26, 2021 due to COVID-19 at St John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma and stepped into Heaven just one month short of his 55th birthday. He could not be surrounded by Family and Friends due to the Covid Protocol, but was provided with all the love and care of the Hospital Staff, and prayers of his family and friends.

James was born on September 26, 1966 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to James Andrew and Gerald Dean (Calvert) Chapman.  He attended schools in Columbus, Ohio, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Mustang, Oklahoma.

He received his A&P Mechanics License with Inspectors Authorization from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was employed by Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Quality Control Inspector for many years.

James served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard for 8 years as a diesel mechanic.

He enjoyed fishing, eating, and his special treat of spending time with his grandchildren Bella and JJ.  He was big and loud with a lot to say about everything.  Inside of his tough shell, he had a heart of a teddy bear, and immense compassion for those around him.

He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He requested to have a Viking Funeral.  However, it is not legal to shoot a flaming arrow at a boat on the lake in order to set fire to the boat so as to cremate the body.  However, Robbie has a sneaky, underhanded way, to simulate a Viking Funeral that will fulfill his father’s wishes.

He is survived by His Mother Gerald Dean and Father, James of Mustang, Oklahoma
