James Henry Bennett Jr. was born November 19, 1949 to James Henry and Artie Mae Bennett in Okemah, Oklahoma. He departed this life December 22, 2020 at the age of 71.
He graduated from Bristow High School. He then went to Okmulgee where he got his start rebuilding classic cars. It was not a career; it was his passion. He owned and operated Bennett auto body shop until his passing.
Two daughters were born from his first union, Lori and Lisa. He gained a ten-year-old son, Jarrod from his union with Laura on September 6, 2003. He enjoyed going to the casino, attending car shows. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Bennett; two daughters, Lori Bradford and husband Billy and Lisa Beaver and husband Ward; son, Jarrod Burgett and wife Ashnie; three sisters, Rita Gower-Taylor, Linda Balentine and Shirley Dearman; Grandchildren, Christian, Brittany and Hunter Bradford, Courtney, Tyler, Brandon, Allison, and Anthony Boone, Jayden, Jacob and Cadence Burgett; Great grandchildren, Grace Lynn, Skylee, Caius, Juniper, Tinsley, Amos, Braxtyn and Kylie. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
