Glenn Alan Reader was born on March 31st, 1969 in Santa Maria, California to Richard Alan Reader and Phyllis Elaine (Farmer) Reader. He passed away on August 10th, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 53 years, 4 months, and 10 days. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melodie (Sivadon) Reader of Mounds, son Daniel Reader of Mounds, son Christopher Reader and fiance, Nikki of Tulsa, daughter Hannah (Reader) Stein and husband Jaden Stein of Fayetteville, NC; son Samuel Reader of Tulsa, granddaughters Eva and Eleanor Reader, parents Richard and Phyllis Reader of Sapulpa, sister Tina Culbert of Mounds, brother Richard and Rhonda Reader of Sapulpa, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers.
Glenn was preceded in death by his infant daughter Caitlin Reader; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Bessie Reader; maternal grandparents, George and Mildred Farmer; and uncles Larry, Wayne, and Phil Reader, and by Wade Campbell.
Glenn worked at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital in Guest Services for the last 8 years and was well loved. He was also Assistant Youth Pastor at Mounds United Methodist Church and volunteered time at the Sapulpa Public Library as the D&D Dungeon Master and Games Guru. He also volunteered with his wife at local community events and everything in between in both Mounds and Sapulpa. Everyone who knew him knew he was full of wit, charm, and a bit of sarcasm. He made everything better, just by being there. He will be greatly missed.
Glenn gave in death as he gave in life. His final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
There are no words to express the loss we feel at this time. Glenn was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He lived life to the fullest, creating joy wherever he went. However, if he was writing this obituary, he would want to include that he was “ruggedly handsome and quite modest.” He might also include that he was a wordsmith and an awesome dungeon master.
Glenn’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mounds First Assembly of God, 216 E. 8th St, Mounds, OK 74047. The family will gather at the Mounds Community Center 15 W. 14th Street, Mounds, OK following the service. Flowers may be sent to the Mounds First Assembly of God.
Glenn would not want anyone to dress up, so please feel free to wear something that reflects one of his favorite fandoms. As Glenn enjoyed many things, he mostly loved anything Dr. Who, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, DC, Firefly, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Disney, video games and board games galore, and basically any classic rock band. As Glenn would say, “Live Magic or Die.”
The Glenn Reader Family would like to thank all of our friends and family for your prayers, support, and generosity. There are no words to express how much your kindness is appreciated.
