Carl attended high school in Morris and Okmulgee, OK. He served in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma followed by the United States Army Reserve. He was honorably discharged in 1966. After working briefly for Coca Cola and Commander Finishing Company in Sand Springs, he went to work for Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. retiring after 30 years of service. Carl and Pat and their children operated Hobbs Amusements for many years. Throughout the time they owned the carnival many extended family members and close friends assisted as well. Dad loved and was very proud of his children but being Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the best. In his eyes they could do no wrong and always brought a smile whenever they blessed him with a visit or when he was able to attend their special events. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play baseball, softball, and basketball when he was able. Carl attended Beams of Light Church until his health made it too difficult.

Carl was blessed with three “Angels on Earth” and the care of New Century Hospice who, through their loving care, enabled him to continue to live at home and be active in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. His family will forever be indebted to Jessica Cutler, Brandi Luster, and LaDonna Partridge for loving and caring for our Dad / Papa until the very end. They are members of the Hobbs family in our hearts.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie DeLaney, Tony Crabtree, Lloyd Carroll, Jimmie Carroll, Ritch Gunter, and 3 of Papa’s Grandsons: Charles Joaquin (CJ) Glenn Hobbs, Joshua Hobbs, and Jacob Cale.
