Glenda Nobles

Glenda Sue Nobles was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at Curry Clinic on September 21, 1953, to Willard and Doris Stidman.  She went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2022, at the age of 68.  She lived in several places including California and Texas but eventually made her way back home to Sapulpa.  She married her sweetheart, Jerry Nobles, on March 24, 1971.  In marrying Jerry, she was also blessed with becoming an instant mom to his two children, Dianna and J.D.  Dianna recalls going over to her house before they got married and “momma” as we liked to call her, was playing with the kids while the “grown-ups” talked.  Glenda, herself, was only 18 years old and was like a big, fun kid.  While playing and talking, Dianna asked momma to marry them and to be her mom before our dad even got the chance to ask!  This would begin her lifetime of becoming a mom.  She and Jerry proceeded to have two more children, daughters, Tonja and Robin.  Motherhood, she considered her greatest accomplishment, and a great mom she was!  Full of fun, laughter, and the occasional chasing us around the house with pantyhose on her head!  This comical tradition carried on with the grandchildren that she had and loved dearly.

Glenda was a lot of fun and full of funny antics!  She was silly, cracked jokes, and could always get a laugh out of anyone she met.  She had an outgoing nature around those she knew, but could also be timid and shy.  We’ve enjoyed reminiscing with other family members about the amusing things she would say.  Anyone who knows momma knows the famous answer you would get when you asked her what she had been up to… “oh, just fartin’ in a circle”, followed by that great laugh she had.  She was full of these funny little sayings, and she also had a nickname for just about everyone.

After raising their children, Jerry and Glenda spent many years “treasure hunting” together.  She loved antiques and generally anything old that had a history.  She had a lot of knowledge about almost any item.  She could tell you what it was, what year it was produced, and how much it was worth.  Bless the hearts of anyone that she crossed paths with in racing to yard sales, estate sales, and antique shops.  The roads probably weren’t safe in those days as she drove from yard sale to yard sale trying to get there early enough to strike a good deal (oftentimes with grandson, Cody, in tow)!  If someone was asking a quarter for an item, you can bet she walked out of there only paying a nickel, maybe less!

Glenda loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and accepted Him into her heart at a young age.  She raised her children in church and tried to instill in them the love she had for the Lord.  She taught Sunday School for many years and coordinated numerous summer-based Vacation Bible Schools.  Robin remembers making multiple batches of homemade play-doh with momma for the children at church.  She was incredibly artistic and so good at coming up with craft ideas for these church classes.

Our mom loved her family and friends tremendously.  Our dad, us kids, and the grandkids were her pride and joy.  She loved to brag about her family and their accomplishments, great or small.  She was our biggest cheerleader, and never failed to worry about her children even when her memory wasn’t at its best.  She was always thinking about and praying for us.  Our loss is a gain to those family members who passed before her.  In Heaven, she joined some pretty special people.  She is preceded in death by her father, Willard Stidman, her mother, Doris Turner Stidman, whom she greatly adored, her loving mother-in-law – Ida Mae Nobles, sweet Cousin Bobby Bruce, her precious “Uncle Buddy” Turner, and her beloved and equally comical brother, Michael Stidman, a.k.a. “Hankey”, one of the many nicknames she had for him.  You all please take good care of her for us!

Glenda is survived by husband, Jerry Nobles, of the home, daughter, Dianna Lowry of Sapulpa, son and daughter in law, J.D. and Nicky Nobles of Texas, daughter, and son in law, Tonja and Dan Muret of Texas, daughter, and son in law, Robin and Steve Long of Sapulpa. Her grandchildren are as follows – grandson, Corey Lowry of California, grandson and granddaughter in law, Cody and Veronica Lowry of California, grandson and granddaughter in law, Lane and Shelby Nobles of Texas along with children Kayden and River, grandson and granddaughter in law, Rozen and Taylor Nobles of Texas along with children Riann and Woodson, granddaughter and grandson in law, Harlie and William Gering of Oklahoma, with soon to be baby boy on the way, granddaughter, Taylen Muret of Texas, granddaughter, Peyton Long of Oklahoma, and grandson, Wyatt Long of Oklahoma. Also, Glenda’s much-beloved big brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Grace Stidman of Tulsa, and her much loved big sister, Brenda Koenekamp of Washington state.  She loved you guys so incredibly much!  Glenda also greatly loved and was so fond of her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We all love you, momma, and will miss you so much, sweet girl!  Until we meet again…
